Scan for malware with multi-engine detection and 70+ signature patterns. Audit and enforce 35+ privacy and security settings across your system.

Malware Scanner

Kudu includes a multi-engine malware scanner with quarantine and removal capabilities.

Detection Engines

EngineHow it works
Signature-basedMatches files against a database of known malware signatures
Heuristic analysisDetects suspicious behavior patterns, file names, and locations
Windows DefenderLeverages the built-in Windows antivirus for additional coverage

Threat Severity

When threats are found, each is assigned a severity level:

  • Critical — Known dangerous malware. Take action immediately.
  • High — Likely malicious with strong indicators of compromise.
  • Medium — Suspicious and warrants investigation.
  • Low — Potentially unwanted program (PUP) or minor risk.

Actions

For each detected threat, you can:

  • Quarantine — Move the file to an isolated directory. Kudu preserves the original path so the file can be restored if it turns out to be a false positive.
  • Delete — Permanently remove the file.
  • Ignore — Skip the item and take no action.

Threat Blacklist

Kudu maintains a database of known threat indicators — malicious domains, IP addresses, and network ranges. When your device is linked to Kudu Cloud, this list is automatically kept up to date. The cloud threat monitor uses this list for real-time network analysis.

  2. Review the list of settings — each one explains what it does and why it matters
  3. Toggle individual settings on or off
  4. Or click Apply All to set everything to the most privacy-friendly option at once

Some settings require admin privileges to change. Kudu will prompt for elevation when needed.
