Cloud Integration
Connect your Kudu desktop app to Kudu Cloud for remote device management, fleet monitoring, and automated maintenance from any browser.
Kudu includes optional cloud integration for remote device management. Cloud features are entirely opt-in — Kudu works fully offline without an account.
Linking Your Device
- Sign up for a Kudu Cloud account at cloud.usekudu.com
- Get your API key from the Cloud dashboard
- In Kudu, go to Settings > Cloud
- Enter your API key and click Link
- Your device will appear in the Cloud dashboard, ready for remote management
Each device is identified by a unique machine ID generated locally on your computer.
Remote Commands
Once linked, you can trigger 35+ actions on your device from the Cloud dashboard:
| Category | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Scanning | Run system, browser, app, gaming, registry, malware, privacy, network, and service scans |
| Cleaning | Clean scanned items, empty recycle bin |
| Updates | Check and install software updates, driver updates, and Windows updates |
| System | Shut down, restart (with configurable delay), run SFC scan, run DISM repair |
| Configuration | Apply privacy settings, optimize services, manage startup items, remove bloatware |
| Security | Scan for malware, quarantine or delete threats, update the threat blacklist |
| Monitoring | View system status, health reports, and live performance telemetry |
Health Reports & Telemetry
When linked, your device sends a health report every 30 minutes, including:
- System metrics (CPU, memory, disk, network)
- Running processes
- Disk health status
You can also enable real-time telemetry for live performance monitoring from the Cloud dashboard, with a configurable sampling interval.
Threat Monitoring
Kudu Cloud provides continuous network monitoring. It analyzes your device's active network connections against a maintained threat blacklist of known malicious domains, IP addresses, and network ranges. The blacklist is automatically kept up to date.
Safety & Rate Limiting
Remote commands include built-in safeguards:
- Minimum 5-second interval between commands
- Commands execute sequentially in a queue
- 5-minute default timeout per command (30 minutes for long operations like Windows Update)
- Automatic reconnection with exponential backoff if the connection drops
Unlinking
To disconnect your device from Kudu Cloud, go to Settings > Cloud and click Unlink. The device will stop sending telemetry and will no longer accept remote commands.
