How to Clear Saved Password Cache on Windows

Before You Clean

Saved passwords and passkeys are credentials, not cache. Confirm another sign-in method works before removing a credential.

Review and Clean Manually

1. Open the browser’s password manager and inspect the entry for the affected site. Do not export credentials into an unprotected support report.

2. Check account synchronization before deleting; changes can affect other devices. Remove only the agreed entry.

3. For an obsolete Windows network or application credential, open Credential Manager, confirm its owner, and remove only that credential.

4. Verify sign-in using the approved method. Clearing cookies does not delete passwords; cache cleaning is not secure device disposal.
