Review Windows’ Retention Settings
Microsoft documents Storage Sense as operating on the system drive. Review its bin-retention settings and any choices for Downloads or local cloud content. Making a cloud file online-only differs from permanently deleting its remote copy.
When Kudu Adds Value
Evaluate Kudu if supported app-cache rules or its other maintenance views answer a need the built-in controls do not. Inspect the scan instead of assuming extra software is necessary. Coverage depends on installed apps, platform, and permissions.
Compare Like for Like
Use the same test-machine snapshot and matching scope. Cache-only cleanup and automatic Recycle Bin retention are not equivalent workloads. Finish updates, preserve personal files and rollback data, and compare what remains. Read Kudu’s safety limits before adding another tool.
