T3 Code Performance Caches

T3 Code stores several Chromium and Electron performance caches under its profile folders to speed up startup, editor rendering, and web-based UI features. These include V8 compiled code in the Code Cache, GPU process data in GPUCache, and Dawn Graphite and WebGPU shader or pipeline blobs used for hardware-accelerated rendering; Kudu removes these temporary caches from both the standard t3code profile and the newer t3code-v2 profile without touching extensions, settings, projects, accounts, or saved work.

Why clean T3 Code Performance Caches?

  • Invalidated V8 compiled code after a T3 Code or Electron update can make the first launch unusually slow, with delayed window painting while the Code Cache rebuilds
  • Stale GPUCache entries from a graphics driver update can cause black panels, flickering menus, or missing icons until Chromium recreates the GPU process cache
  • Outdated Dawn Graphite or WebGPU shader blobs can produce rendering glitches in accelerated editor surfaces, such as blank previews or choppy animations when opening heavy workspaces
  • Corrupted compiled-code cache files can lead to repeated high CPU usage at startup as T3 Code falls back to re-parsing and recompiling the same UI scripts every launch
  • Large accumulated cache folders across both t3code and t3code-v2 profiles waste disk space, especially after multiple app updates or profile migrations, with no benefit once the old blobs are obsolete
  • Mismatched hardware-acceleration cache data can trigger stutter when scrolling, resizing, or switching tabs because the GPU pipeline state has to recover from bad cached entries
  • Resetting these performance caches is useful when T3 Code feels visually broken but your extensions, preferences, sign-in state, and project files are fine, since the issue is often only in disposable acceleration data
