ShurePlus MOTIV
Built on Electron, ShurePlus MOTIV stores Chromium disk cache files, V8 code cache entries, GPU shader and render caches, and rotating log files under its profile on Windows. Those files speed up loading the recording interface, waveform views, device panels, and embedded web content, but they can become stale after app or graphics driver changes. Kudu removes the Cache_Data, Code Cache, GPUCache, and logs folders while leaving firmware, microphone settings, accounts, and recorded audio untouched.
Why clean ShurePlus MOTIV?
- Invalidated V8 bytecode after a ShurePlus MOTIV update can make the app launch slowly or show a delayed response while the interface recompiles scripts
- Stale Chromium disk cache entries can leave parts of the MOTIV interface loading incorrectly, such as missing panels, blank embedded content, or controls that do not refresh until restart
- Old GPUCache shader data from a graphics driver update can cause black or flickering interface regions, laggy meters, or stutter when opening visual recording views
- An oversized Cache_Data folder can consume hundreds of megabytes over time, especially after repeated app sessions, with no benefit once those cached resources are outdated
- Settled Electron logs can grow across crashes and repeated device connection attempts, taking disk space while preserving little value for normal day-to-day use
- Corrupted cache files can trigger odd one-off behavior like a window opening but staying partially blank, then immediately returning to normal after the cache is rebuilt
