NVIDIA App
Built on an embedded Chromium browser, NVIDIA App stores HTTP disk cache objects, V8 Code Cache bytecode, GPUCache data, component and extension CRX download caches, and GraphiteDawnCache, GrShaderCache, and ShaderCache files used by its rendered interface. These caches speed up loading the app's news, driver pages, overlays, and hardware-accelerated UI, while ProgramData logs record completed activity and diagnostics. Kudu removes those rebuildable browser caches and settled logs without touching your NVIDIA account, downloaded driver state, game assets, or app settings.
Why clean NVIDIA App?
- Stale HTTP cache entries can leave the Home or Drivers sections showing outdated cards, missing images, or pages that never finish refreshing after NVIDIA changes web content
- Invalidated V8 Code Cache after an app update can make the first launch feel unusually slow, with tabs opening late until fresh bytecode is compiled
- GPUCache data tied to an older graphics driver version can become invalid after a driver update, causing black panels, flickering UI, or sluggish transitions until the cache rebuilds
- Old GraphiteDawnCache, GrShaderCache, and ShaderCache blobs can force the hardware-accelerated interface to recompile or reject stale shaders, which users notice as stutter when opening overlays or navigating animated panels
- Corrupted component_crx_cache or extensions_crx_cache files can stop bundled Chromium components from updating cleanly, leading to broken embedded pages or repeated background downloads
- Oversized browser cache folders can consume hundreds of megabytes in LocalAppData, especially after repeated driver browsing and news content loads, even though the app can recreate everything it needs
- Settled log files in ProgramData accumulate across launches and troubleshooting sessions, taking disk space while offering no benefit to normal daily use once the issues they recorded are long past
