EA App
EA App stores several layers of temporary data under Electronic Arts and EADesktop, including Chromium-style web cache files for the storefront and library UI, EA Desktop logs, and In-Game Overlay cache content in IGOCache. These files speed up loading of game artwork, account pages, embedded web views, and the overlay, but they can become stale after client updates, account changes, or interrupted downloads. Kudu removes those temporary cache and log files from EA App and legacy Origin locations without touching installed games, save data, account details, or sign-in credentials.
Why clean EA App?
- Stale Chromium web cache data can leave the Store, Library, or Friends pages loading as blank panels or spinning indefinitely inside the EA App window
- Cached account and entitlement responses from an older session can make owned games appear missing until the app is restarted and fresh metadata is downloaded
- Corrupted IGOCache files can cause the EA in-game overlay to fail to open, render as a black panel, or hitch when launching supported games
- Leftover cache from a failed app update or interrupted content refresh can trap EA App in repeated loading loops, especially on the home screen and download manager
- Large accumulated log files under EA Desktop can consume hundreds of megabytes and make troubleshooting harder because current errors are buried in old session noise
- Legacy Origin cache files can conflict with the newer EA App's refreshed web content, leading to outdated artwork, broken tiles, or repeated prompts to reload pages
