Microsoft Teams usually gets stuck on the loading screen because its local cache files are corrupted or out of date. It can also happen when a sign-in token is broken, Teams did not close properly, or another background Microsoft process is hanging. In some cases, outdated app files, network filtering, or Windows account issues can stop Teams from finishing startup.
Common Symptoms
- Teams opens but stays on a blank, white, purple, or loading screen
- The app shows the Teams logo and never reaches your chats or calendar
- Teams keeps trying to sign in but does not finish loading
- Closing and reopening Teams does not fix the issue
- Teams works in the browser, but the desktop app does not
