- Open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
- Click More details if you only see the simple view.
- Under the Processes tab, look for the app that failed to update, plus related items like Microsoft Store, Gaming Services, Xbox, or other app helper processes.
- Select each one and click End task.
- Reopen Microsoft Store and try again.

Restart your PC
- Click Start > Power > Restart.
- After Windows restarts, do not reopen the problem app before testing the Store update.
